Historic Building Markers
Celebrating Our City’s History: Historic Building Markers Project
Our community is rich in history, and we are excited to announce a new initiative to bring that history to life! After more than a year of planning, design, and production, our committee is thrilled to introduce the Historic Building Markers Project—a tribute to the historic structures that have shaped our city.
Recognizing Our Historic Buildings
With the support of Midway City Council funding, we have created 28 historic building markers. These markers will provide insight into the architecture, stories, and people who have played a role in our community’s development.
Installation & Walking Tour
Over the coming months, these markers will be placed in front of buildings throughout the city. As part of this effort, we are also developing a new historic walking tour, which will be ready for residents and visitors to enjoy by summer 2025. This tour will offer a deeper connection to our past, allowing participants to explore the city’s heritage at their own pace.
Looking Ahead: Phase 2
The Historic Building Markers Project doesn’t end here. We are already planning for Phase 2, which will expand this initiative to recognize even more sites of historical significance in the future.
Stay tuned for updates on marker installations, walking tour details, and how you can get involved in preserving and celebrating our city’s history.
Thank you for your support in keeping our past alive for future generations!
