Midway School
75 West 100 North
The two-story Midway School (no longer standing) was built in 1901 and a large addition was added in 1912 at a cost of $12,500. The laborers were paid $1.50 per day and $2.50 for those with a team of horses. The school was build of native “pot-rock” from local fields and quarries. Surplus rock and materials were sold to purchase furnishings, fences and books for the school. The school was torn down in 1992 to make room for a new Midway City Office building.
